THE HISTORY OF THE BRUSSELS WELCOME HOTEL
The original building, situated in the old fish market was constructed over two centuries ago, but it wasn't until 1896 that it became a restaurant.

In 1988 Sophie and Michel Smeesters took over the both the restaurant and the hotel, which became "the smallest hotel in brussels". Michel's superb cuisine made the restaurant made the restaurant "La Truite d'Argent" very popular, with an excellent reputation for its seafood.
So at the end of 2001, Sophie and Michel decided to realise their dream. Extra floor were added and the whole building renovatid to provide 17 rooms. They planed the decor to transport guests on a world they have already done. They searched far and wide to find the perfect pieces for each room.
Today, the Brussels Welcome Hotel, with it's 17 completely renovated rooms, may no longer be the "smallest hotel in Brussels" but it's certainly the most charming ! |
